 Hello Beautiful People,

I am Riddhi Bhatt. And  today I am coming with something interesting .You know...what is  our todays’s blog ? This Thinking Activity is about Dada Poem and assigned by Prof. Dr.Dilip Barad sir, Head of the English Department of Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavsinhji Bhavnagar University (MKBU).When I talk about Dada poems you might have one question that  what is this Dada poem ? Son let’s see and after I present my dada poem which I create or generate from newspaper and also I choose one article and one poem.

Dada or Dadaism was an art movement of the European avant-garde in the early 20th century, with early centres in Zürich.Developed in reaction to World War I, the Dada movement consisted of artists who rejected the logic, reason, and aestheticism of modern capitalist society, instead expressing nonsense, irrationality, and anti-bourgeois protest in their works.The art of the movement spanned visual, literary, and sound media, including collage, sound poetry, cut-up writing, and sculpture. Dadaist artists expressed their discontent toward violence, war, and nationalism, and maintained political affinities with radical left-wing and far-left politics. 

Dadaists used shock, nihilism, negativity, paradox, randomness, subconscious forces and antinomianism to subvert established traditions in the aftermath of the Great War. Tzara's 1920 manifesto proposed cutting words from a newspaper and randomly selecting fragments to write poetry, a process in which the synchronous universe itself becomes an active agent in creating the art. A poem written using this technique would be a "fruit" of the words that were clipped from the article.

Fire and Ice

From what I’ve tasted of desire

I hold with those who favor fire.

But if it had to perish twice,

I think I know enough of hate
